Please join us for our Harvest Festival Service which takes place at 10am on Sunday, 15th September 2024 as we give thanks that "all is safely gathered in". Members of our Uniformed Organisations will be in church with us. Harvest Gifts of any long life, non-perishable goods and toiletries will be appreciated and donated onwards to Salford Loaves And Fishes.
As always, the service will be followed by a chance for coffee and a chat in the Memorial Hall.

Holy Rood Swinton

We would love to welcome you to Holy Rood Church on Moorside Road in Swinton where our Sunday Morning Service now starts at 10am; it's a service of Sung Eucharist i.e. Holy Communion to a sung setting with hymns, readings and prayers. Afterwards you are invited to join us in the Moorside Memorial Hall for coffee and conversation.

SPECIAL SERVICES THIS AUTUMN/CHRISTMAS 2024 INCLUDE:

Sacred Sanctuary: a time of contemplative prayer lit by candlelight on Friday, 18th October. We meet in the quietness of the Lady Chapel at church at 6:45pm in readiness for a 7pm start. We will then meet again for more Sacred Sanctuary on Friday 15th November and Friday 13th December.

Remembrance Sunday, 10th November: we meet at 9:45am for a service in church then proceed outside to the War Memorial for the national two minutes silence at 11am.

Sunday 1st December is Advent Sunday: 6:30pm Service Of Hope And Remembrance when we will remember the faithful departed and light candles in their memory. 

Saturday 7th December 12noon - 3pm Holy Rood Christmas Fair

Sunday 8th December 10am Toy Service: please bring new/unwrapped toys and gifts to go to Wood Street Mission

Sunday 15th December 6:30pm Service Of Lessons & Carols: please join us for a traditional carol service with seasonal refreshments served in the hall afterwards. 

Christmas Eve, Tuesday 24th December 4pm Christingle Service for all the family and at 8pm The First Communion Of Christmas; Sung Eucharist with carols

Wednesday 25th December 10am Christmas Day Sung Eucharist with carols

REGULAR EVENTS AT HOLY ROOD INCLUDE:

Tuesday Afternoons: Line Dancing continues in the hall 1pm to 3pm ~ all are welcome including absolute beginners. The cost is £4 per session including tea, coffee and biscuits ~ well worth it for the fun and friendship.

On Wednesday Morning it's Coffee Time between 10am - 11:30am! You are very welcome to join us in Holy Rood Memorial Hall every Wednesday during Term Time for an informal get together for coffee and chat. There is also a midweek service of Holy Communion at 11am in church on a Wednesday morning.
