Led by the Chamber Choir, followed by refreshments.
A still and meditative service in contemporary language. There are special prayers for those who are sick or in need, and those who wish can receive from the clergy the laying on of hands with prayers for healing, either for themselves or for others who are close to them.
Join us for a candle lit service with words and music based on the Swedish Lucia tradition.
Followed by refreshments in the porch.
This is a beautiful and traditional choral service, followed by refreshments in the porch. The service is patterned on the one at King’s College Cambridge. Pieces sung by the Choir only are combined with congregational carols. It is not suitable for young children, who will find it long.

The most popular service of the year, specially intended for children. Come early to get a good seat! We tell the Christmas story, and the children choose the carols as we go along. Spectacular angel wings fill the sanctuary, the Three Kings arrive with their gifts, and the service finishes in candlelight.

There are no children’s groups today, but children are very welcome at the service itself. The sermon is designed with them in mind.
Join us in the early months of 2024 for an exploration of prayer. This will not be a manual on how to pray, but will be a reflective and open ended approach to the rich variety of prayer. We will look at both the practice of prayer and the theological questions it raises, Our exploration will include consideration of:
ways of praying
ways of thinking about prayer
the implications of prayer for the nature of God and humanity
what can we ask God for?
how can we be guided through prayer?
prayer and experience of the divine
prayer in scripture and as a way of relating to scripture
spiritual disciplines.
The course will be led by our curate, Revd Dr Gary Eaborn, whose doctoral thesis was on the subject of Prayer and Theology.

There will be a stop in St John’s Wood Churchyard, by the Cochrane Street gates,
from which the procession will set off again at c.10.55am.

High Tea is at 4.45pm. Then we gather in church for a Sung Eucharist starting at 5.30pm.

transferred to 6.30pm).

The Choir will be on holiday after 16 July. Choral Eucharists resume on 10 September. Note too that there will be no Sunday evening services in the month of August, though the church will remain open for private prayer until 7pm.
