Spring is a time of new beginnings, ranging all the way from tentative first steps to beautiful blooms. Join our enchanting evening of music for choir, cello, organ, and baritone soloist, as we celebrate this all-encompassing spirit of the season.

Join us for a performance of Duruflé's Requiem, a masterpiece which deftly explores how the pain of loss can give way to hope and new beginnings. Powerful moments of tragedy and tension linger then diffuse, leaving a sense of quiet awe and reflection.

Plus, we're featuring beloved favourites like Fauré's Cantique de Jean Racine and Pavane (the latter will be especially familiar if you know S Club 7's hit pop single Natural...!). Widor's Toccata - you may know it from Royal Weddings, including Will and Kate's in 2011 - and Villette's Panis Angelicus will round out our evening of French music which will take you from fear to relief, despair to joy, hesitancy to wonder. Transition is coming; spring is here.

We're thrilled to be working with renowned cellist Yuki Ito, winner of one of the highest music honours in Japan, the Hideo Saito Memorial Award in 2019. And we're so happy to welcome back previous collaborator John Holland-Avery, celebrated baritone who has performed in a number of acclaimed operas and concerts.

At Vivamus, we're always privileged to work with our musical director Rufus Frowde, and our associate director and organist extraordinaire Richard Hills.

St Mary's, Bourne Street

Welcome to St Mary's, a parish church grounded in the rich heritage of Catholic worship in the Church of England. The liturgy and worship at St Mary's beautifully combines Gregorian chant, Renaissance, Viennese and contemporary sacred music with the majestic language of the Book of Common Prayer.
St Mary’s is a place of hospitality and welcome. We have always been open to all, irrespective of any stance on a particular aspect of church life or politics. As a church we remain outside Affirming Catholicism, Forward in Faith and Anglican Catholic Future.</span>
