About Us

St Mary Magdalene is an inclusive and diverse Church of England parish, united with St Peter, Paddington on Elgin Avenue.   We offer traditional services and worship with a family atmosphere.

The church building is architecturally significant and having been extensively refurbished is the proud home of Grand Junction https://grandjunction.org.uk/ which runs a huge array of events for the local community and beyond, as well as an excellent cafe open every day facing out on to the canal side of the church.

We are proud of our school St Mary Magdalene and St Stephen's which is next door to the church, and are pleased to serve the school along with the parish of St Stephen's Westbourne Park. 

The church has been used widely for filming. You may have seen us in films such as The End of the Affair or The Blue Lamp. Or in TV programmes such as Miss Marple, Waking the Dead, Jonathan Creek, Britain's Next Top Model and Lewis. We have also featured in music videos for Lesley Garret and Fat Boy Slim.

We offer a church environment that is traditional yet warm and welcoming to everyone, whatever your background or need.
