Reading the Bible alone can be challenging. Scripture is full of references that can be very easily misunderstood - especially when we read with 21st century eyes. The Bible is a series of books written by over 40 authors across 1,500 years - so there is a lot to decipher!

Often we come across a verse which seems easy to understand, but in fact means something very different:
- What does it really mean to turn the other cheek?
- What does it mean to lump hot coals on the heads of your enemies?

We gather to discuss the basic meaning of a passage of scripture, then try to find its symbolic or metaphorical meanings. Next we apply teachings to our own lives and explore the text's spiritual and heavenly significance.

We meet in the main Church: a non-judgemental space where no question is silly, each question is examined, and all come to learn from Scripture, Reason, and Tradition.

1) The Literal Sense (basic meaning)
2) The Allegorical Sense (symbolic meaning)
3) The Moral Sense (application)
4) The Anagogical Sense (significance)
