A lot has happened since the last update on our peace garden. The raised beds are now all finished, the wood chip is down and many pots have been planted up with trees, roses and other plants in memory of loved ones. At Christimas we brought into church one of the spruces too be decorated and blessed as our parish Christmas tree. As it was a gift to us as a congregation, it seemed more than appropriate to use it to celebrate the gift of the Christchild to us all. We alos received another gift, a homemade stable, which now takes pride of place in the front of the garden. We put a perspex silouette of the nativity in it until Candlemas, and it now serves as the empty tomb as we continue to celebrate Easter. In these torubled times, anything we can do outside too help people with their faith is a good thing, and so for Holy Week the railings held posters explaining the events of that most sacred of weeks. All though that time the daffodils filled the garden with a blaze of yellows, so beautiful in the sunshine, and we are now waiting for the summer seeds to grow. It is difficult to keep up with the watering in a lockdown, but we are trying our best under the circumstances. We hope that the garden can lift the spirits of all who are coming out too exercise, work or shop in accordance with current government guidelines.
