Accessibility
We have a baby changing station in both of fully accessible toilets - one in the foyer of the historic church and one in the church centre.
This is located in the front garden of the church.
We have two accessible toilets. One is in the foyer of the church, to the right of the second set of dorrs as you enter the building. The other one is located in the church centre. It is very near the entrance, which is on the corner of Dukes Avenue and Long Lane. It is through the main door and inner door and then immediately on the left opposite the church office.
This is located in the church office.
The entrance to the church centre is fully accessible, having a sloped pathway as well as steps.
Our Building
Although our building was opened in 1886, none of the stained glass within it is Victorian. In 1921, a World War 1 memorial window was installed in the north transept. All our other windows were blow out by a German bomb that landed on the corner of the church building by the main east window on the night of 10 May 1941. Replacement windows, made by Goddard & Gibbs, and designed by A. E. Buss (1905-1999) were not installed until 1955.
We are currently running, for those aged 65 and over, a free warm space on Mondays from 10am to 12.30pm. It takes place in the hall in our modern church centre, which has underfloor heating. It is free and there are hot drinks, board games, puzzles, newspapers, free wi-fi and conversation. The last session in 2022 will take place on 19 December and the space will resume again on 9 January 2023. Our intention is to run this until the end of March 2023.
Our electricity supply is 100% renewable.
