11am Service

Occurring
Every Sunday at for 1 hour
Venue
Christ Church Kensington
Address
Kensington, W8 5RQ, United Kingdom

Our morning service leans towards the traditional without being formal.
We meet as a wonderful mix of ages and stages to hear God’s word taught, to sing his praises, to pray for the needs of the church family and the world, and to encourage one another.

At the service’s heart is the reading and preaching of the Bible, thoughtfully and carefully applied to our lives. The service also draws on the Book of Common Prayer and has music led by organ and choir to a high standard.

We strive to make every aspect of the service unpretentious and accessible to all. We think that even if you have never been to church before, you will be able to engage without embarrassment.

There is an outstanding children’s programme for 0s to 11s, run within the church building, with the children leaving partway through the service.

The service lasts for an hour. Afterwards we serve tea and coffee, and also run informal games for the children, so that parents are free to chat with others. About once a month we serve lunch (£2.50) – you can sign up for that through the calendar.

Christ Church Kensington

Christ Church exists to glorify Jesus

Jesus shows us a God who is amazing: creative, loving, powerful, fair and wise. To know him personally is the meaning of your life.

This God is worthy of all our trust and affection, but none of us treat him this way. The good news at the heart of Christianity is that Jesus came into this world to live the life we should have lived for us and then to die on the cross the death we deserve to die – all to enable us to come back into the relationship with God we were made for.

Jesus gave his all for us. So we now give our all for him.

Our mission is to make fruitful disciples for him

We want to help one another to grow in our relationship with Jesus: to grow in faith, love and hope. We long for this relationship in turn to bear fruit, making a difference to the world around us. And we want to help others also to encounter Jesus and learn to trust him.

To fulfil this mission, we have three particular strategies.

Strategy 1: We listen to Jesus

Jesus speaks to us through the Bible, as it is taught faithfully – and by his Spirit it is powerful to change lives. So we put the teaching of the Bible at the heart of everything we do.

Strategy 2: We love everyone

We want church to be great for every age and stage in faith, and we aim to foster rich and healthy relationships between us all. Whether you will be a part of Christ Church only for a year or so or for much longer, we are committed to caring for you.

Strategy 3: We work together

At Christ Church we try to foster a culture in which it is normal to take risks and make sacrifices for Jesus, and we us our ministry teams to train, equip and encourage one another into whatever service is right for each one of us.
