This Advent Service is an extended meditation on the theme of “light out of darkness”, the theme of the Collect for Advent Sunday. Today marks the beginning of the season of Advent in which Christians prepare for the Coming of the Lord and His Kingdom. So we look to the birth of Christ, but also beyond to the ‘second coming’ at the end time when God gathers all things in Christ.
