We are a multi-faith, ecumenical local group - in 2024, we shall meet from 10.30-12.30 on the third Saturday of each month in St Mary’s church hall - so the first meetings will be on 20 January and 17 February.

Last year, by using the wool that was so kindly donated to us, we were able to give our knitted items - baby blankets, jackets, hats and mittens - to ‘Baby Basics’ in Sunbury and to ‘The Extra Mile’ at Hampton Mission Partnership.

We also made hats, scarves, gloves and children's and adult jumpers that were sent to Ukraine, and shawls and wool hats for the elderly which were then given to ‘The Extra Mile’.

This year we hope to include making hats, scarves and gloves for the local homeless if possible.

How can you help?

If you have some balls of wool that you can donate, we can turn them into items that are urgently needed, locally and internationally! Please either:
• give them to one of our knitters, or
• bring them to one of our monthly meetings, or
• drop them into our ‘wool donations’ box inside St Mary’s church.

And if you want to join our happy band of knitters, do come along to one of our monthly sessions, or for more details get in touch with our organiser, Lynda Imir, by emailing [email protected]

Thank you – and Happy New Knitting Year 2024!

St Mary's Twickenham

St Mary's is a welcoming and inclusive church where we hope people coming for the first time will feel at home. We welcome people of all ages to any of our services. St Mary's has signed up to 'Inclusive Church'.

St Mary's is a church which seeks to:

* Use our buildings more effectively to help make God more real for the people of this area.

* Nurture our relationships with God and with each other.

* Nurture our children and young people with a positive sense of God

Our Services and events that are organised by St Mary's are shown on this website. We are delighted that many outside organisations use our church and hall to serve the wider community - details of other events hosted at St Mary's can be found  on our own website: https://www.stmarytwick.org.uk

The parish of St Mary the Virgin Twickenham is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officers, PSOs. The Diocese of London’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
