About Us
AN INTERNATIONAL CHURCH FOR AN INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
We are a charismatic-evangelical Anglican church with a history that goes back almost 150 years. As a diverse family of nations (with various traditions), we've been brought together in our love for Jesus. We're called to reach out to the international community that is here on our doorstep in Earls Court.
CORE VALUES:
There are 3 things that we want to be shaped by as a commmunity:
WORSHIP – An old Puritan confession declares, "Our chief purpose is to worship God and enjoy him forever." Worship is simply our response to God's great love and all that He is - it is what we were made to do. It is far more than just the songs we sing, but it is about our whole lives lived in gratitude to God and in obedience to Him. We aim for our worship to be passionate, Spirit-filled, and matched by our lives.
WITNESS – In the book of Acts we read about the early church doing life together, going out into the world, in the power of the Spirit, to share the great news of Jesus - the risen Lord. St Luke's has the same mission - to follow Jesus' call to make disciples of the nations (Matthew 28:19). Knowing Christ and His forgiving love has the power to change lives, to bring freedom and restoration (Luke 4), and we are called to share this good news in words and actions.
WELCOME – The parable of the Prodigal Son reminds us that God is always ready to welcome people back into His family. Jesus' life was a demonstration of God wanting to be with us. As a church we want to be a place of welcome and acceptance for everyone who comes - whatever your background, nation, culture, denomination, faith-stage, life-stage - we want to be a place where the lost feel found, the lonely find a home, and everyone has a place.
