Good Friday Meditations at St Mary's

Occurring
Friday 18 April 2025 Friday at for 3 hours
Venue
St Mary's, Upper Street
Address
Upper Street Islington London, N1 2TX, United Kingdom

On our journey together through this great drama of grace on Good Friday we bear witness as Jesus wrestles with his own aloneness, abandoned by so many of his closest friends, abandoned even by God His Father. Through words and music, and at this time more than ever, in silence and separation, we reflect on the events of this day and on their meanings for those around Jesus and for ourselves today of all days.

This is a time for stillness, for watching and for waiting. Jesus will keep to his word.

May God bless us all in this holy time.

Meditation 1: John 18:1- 19:42

Meditation 2: John 19: 25-27

Meditation 3: Mark 15: 33-34

Meditation 4: John 19: 29-30

St Mary's, Upper Street

St Mary's is one of the Church of England's most historic parishes. Today we're a church of different people, a community of all ages, living out our calling to follow Jesus and to serve God in the heart of Islington.

We are committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults, whilst providing a safe space for all to come and relax, have fun and worship. You can find details of all our safeguarding policies and who to contact if you have concerns on our website.
