Occurring
for 1 hour, 30 mins
Venue Address
86 Leadenhall Street City of London, EC3A 3DH, United Kingdom
The 375th Lion Sermon will be given by Elizabeth Oldfield, acclaimed writer and broadcaster and host of The Sacred podcast since 2017. She is the former director and now senior fellow of the think tank Theos, and lives in a Christian community in South London with her husband and children.

Every October since 1649 a sermon has been preached at St Katharine Cree on the theme of facing challenges with the help of God. Drawing on the ancient wisdom of faith and stories from her own life, Elizabeth will be speaking on what she's learned in writing her new book, Fully Alive: Tending to the Soul in Turbulent Times, to sustain an honest conversation about the deepest questions in our ordinary lives, and practical, meaningful ideas to help us pay attention to the people we are becoming.

Evensong is a gently traditional service of music, readings, and prayers to usher in the evening in peace and reflection. The service is sung by the superb Lloyd’s Choir and will be followed by time to linger and meet over refreshments.

St Katharine Cree

The Guild Church of St Katharine Cree is a church for all workers in the heart of the City of London. We offer a place to pray and a community to belong to.

Rooted in a rhythm of Christian prayer and worship, we accompany and support workers in London to build a just and hopeful future for the City, and to deepen their connection with their community and with Jesus Christ.
