4 July marks the 400th anniversary of the death of William Byrd, one of Britain's - and the Renaissance's - greatest composers. St Botolph's musicians pay tribute to him at the Choral Mass the following day by singing his Mass for five voices; the organ voluntary is also by Byrd, and the hymns are all by Byrd's contemporary Orlando Gibbons.
