St George’s is a church close to the centre of Wigan. Today it serves as the home and food centre of the award-winning anti-poverty charity The Brick. It retains a licence for worship and, while there is no regular Sunday worship, there are occasional services at festival times.

St George’s is in the Parish of Wigan Town Centre, itself part of Church Wigan. Nearby churches in the parish offer vibrant worship and activities, including All Saints, Wigan (commonly known as Wigan Parish Church) and St Michael and All Angels, Swinley.
