Welcome to St Andrew's Church, Springfield, Wigan
Our Parish is a friendly, thriving community with lots of local amenities. We welcome anyone who wishes to worship at our church. We have lots of activities to suit everyone of all ages, and to involve themselves within our church family. (Check our Face book pages 'St Andrews Church' and 'St Andrew's Parish Centre' for images.) We have active Social groups and are always open to new ideas. There are groups to join eg Mothers' Union, Friendship Circle, Andy's Kids, Brownies, Guides, Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Rainbows / Our Social Activities are open to everyone. Bingo, Coffee Mornings, School events, Exercise classes. Warm Spaces during the Autumn & Winter months. We follow the Liverpool Diocese guide lines for safe guarding, a copy of which is on our notice board. Our church holds approx 583 people and the Centre holds approx 60 - 80 in the main hall and 25-30 in the meeting room [seated comfortably]. Although we have accommodated more people either seated in rows or standing.
Local businesses include: Funeral Parlour, Bakers, Computer shop, Fish & Chip shop, Raj restaurant, Late shop, Hairdressers & Barbers, Printing & Stationery, Co-op, Premier shop, Baby Scan shop, Cafes, Restaurant, Dance studios, Medical Centres, Chemists, Newsagent, Sun tan shop, Laundrette, UpCycled furniture and Man with a Van, The Brick Charity Shop, Well-being café, Muffin Man bakery, Serenity Beauty, Mobile phone shop, Plumbers, Massage & Therapy and we are on two bus routes. The 635 from Wigan to Appley Bridge, which passes the Church and Parish Centre [bus stop on corner] and the 605 & 606 which are the Wigan to Beech Hill circulars and also has 2 bus stops close to Church & Parish Centre. Alight at either the Co-op or next stop - Sacred Heart Church.
