Our earlier registers are deposited at Wigan Metropolitan Borough Archives, Town Hall, Leigh.

They have been digitised and are available online at Lancashire Online Parish Clerk www.lan-opc.org.uk and Ancestry.co.uk.

Ancestry.com may be accessed free at the Archives in Leigh and The Museum of Wigan Life, Library Street, Wigan.

Registers deposited are:

Baptisms 1833 – 1912, Marriages 1834 -1936, Burials 1834 - 1915

Other registers not digitised Service books 1882 – 1965, Confirmation 1878 – 1952, Banns 1964 - 1976.

Release of information may be subject to General Data Protection and Civil Registration rules.

For copies of Birth Certificates (a fee is payable) and enquiries about the location of graves for interments please contact us via the “Get in touch” page giving as much information (approximate dates of death, names etc.) as possible. 

For copies of marriage certificates please contact the Superintendent Registrar, Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council.

Please note that graves in the older sections of the churchyard may not be traceable unless there is a headstone.

For general research we can only undertake minimal searches for which there may be a charge.
