St Philip, Community Church, Derbyshire Hill

St Philip’s is a welcoming community of Christians with a love for the local Derbyshire Hill area.

We are part of the larger parish of Church St Helens, a group of Church of England churches who have chosen to work together with the common aim of renewing hope in communities across St Helens. We believe that more Jesus means more justice, and that a bigger church can make a bigger difference.

Our worship is informal and relaxed and alternates between Holy Communion and more casual worship services. Our worship space is flexible and accessible, we run Kids Church most Sundays, but there is always a dedicated space for children if they want to use it.

Our building is multi-purpose with various rooms for different activities for the community including Breakfast Club, Slimming World, uniform organisations, St Helens Wellbeing and other occasional users.

We’d love to see you at our services and events.

There’s always a warm welcome here!

Here is a prayer that is used at Parochial Meetings for Church St Helens:-

“Lord, we come to you in faith, confident of your love for us and all your world, we ask for renewed hope.

We ask for your wisdom, guidance and grace for Church St Helens.  We seek your blessing on our mission and ministry; that we would see more people meet Jesus, deeper discipleship, growth in leadership and more justice in all of St Helens and especially the communities served by All Saints, St Andrew's, Christ Church, St David's, St Helen, St Michael's, The Mount, St Nicholas, St Paul's, St Philip's and St Thomas.

May the hope of the risen Christ dwell in us and grow through us, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.”
