Team Prayer Day: On Our Knees

Occuring
for 4 hours
Venue
St James' Church
Address
St James' Church, Green Lane Maghull, L31 8BW

In these post-Covid times, we have been brought to our knees by declining church numbers and mounting cultural pressures. However, amidst the difficulties, we can discover that ‘on our knees’ is a good place to be as we come to the end of our own resources and have to cry out to God. There will be a variety of activities available as a focus for individual prayer. A special prayer will be said for the life and mission of our Team on the hour every hour and everyone will be invited to join in. Feel free to drop in for as long or as short a time as you wish – we will be delighted to welcome you!
If you are unable to join us, please spend some time at home during that day saying the Lord’s Prayer and praying for the life and mission of our churches.

St Thomas Melling

Melling Church was founded by the monks of Cockersands Abbey, and a record exists that it was there before the year 1190.

The old Chapel was replaced in 1834 by the present building. The Church is dedicated to St Thomas and The Holy Rood.

There is information about SAFEGUARDING and our FACILITIES by clicking on the links in the column to the left of this page.

As part of the Maghull and Melling Team our vision and purpose statements, outlined below, are underpinned by our commitment to work towards the Greatest Commandment and Great Commission:

In God:

One Team ... St Andrew, St James, St Peter, St Thomas

One Vision ... Maghull and Melling, a place of love, peace, faith, hope

One Purpose ... to fulfil the Greatest Commandment and the Great Commission
