Starting June 27, 2024, you’re invited to join the Ormskirk Anchorhold Prayer Noon Watch group at Ormskirk Parish Church. After the summer, the group will meet in the New Church House parish hall next to the church building. This Prayer Noon Watch is in addition to the morning prayer session which takes place every morning from 8:00 - 9:00.

We welcome all ages to join us for refreshments, board games and good conversation! And if you're up for some physical activity, play a game of table football or pool. A great place to meet up with friends, and to make new ones. We meet in the main hall in the Ministry Centre every Friday at 10:00 am.

If you're living or feeling alone and seeking companionship, join our Friday Friendship Group on Fridays at 11:00 am in Café Vista for a complimentary cup of tea /coffee and biscuits in a warm, inviting and supportive setting. The cafe is accessible via stairs or a lift.

Youth group for school years 5 and 6 (9 - 11 years old) meet in the Ministry Centre each Friday from 3:30 - 4:30 pm to play and spend time with friends, and to learn a new verse in the Bible to take into the week ahead.

Night LYFE Unplugged is for young people in Year 9 and above. We meet in Cafe Vista every Sunday at 6,30 pm (except for the 2nd Sunday in the month) to chat through questions about faith and life, and discuss various themes over refreshments. On the 2nd Sunday of each month we will continue with our regular NIght LYFE service at 6.30 pm in the Ministry Centre. Join us for a delicious cooked breakfast at Café Vista in the Ministry Centre. A full breakfast menu with lots of choices is available for you to select from and enjoy! Note: No need to pre-book, however keep in mind that last orders are taken at 11:45 am. The cafe is accessible via stairs or a lift.

This service follows the modern Common Worship service pattern with two Bible readings, traditional hymns and a sermon. All Christians are welcome to receive communion which is currently given in the form of a wafer dipped in a cup of wine. For those who require a gluten free wafer, there is a separate cup. If you prefer the wafer only, let a member of the clergy know as you approach the chancel.

Coffee will be available between 10:00 and 10:35 am. This is a great opportunity for those who attend the 9:00 am service to stay for a chat with each other and with those who are attending the 10:45 am gathering. If you're new to Christ Church, this is also a great opportunity to introduce yourself and get to know the friendly church family.

We have 8 bells in our church tower, however on a good day we might have only 4 or 5 of them ringing. We are looking to build a team of at least 12 bell ringers to create a more secure future for bell ringing at Christ Church. Bell ringing requires a good sense of time and rhythm, and in return it will provide a light upper body exercise and a good work out of the mind! Join our lively, all age gathering to worship and learn more about how we can follow Jesus. Music is led by our talented worship band, with song lyrics projected onto two screens at the front.

We encourage you to join us for a short service of Morning Prayer, Monday to Thursday, at 9.15 am. Participants meet in the Upper Room at the Ministry Centre on Mondays and Wednesdays, and on Facebook and Zoom Monday - Thursday. A recording of Morning Prayer is also available to watch on Facebook after each service.

A group for pregnant ladies, and parents with babies under 9 months of age. A chance to meet and chat over a cuppa - sharing stories and supporting one another. Cost is £2 per family.

Bring along your knitting needles and wool to Café Vista, where you can meet up with our Knit and Natter group for morning coffee and conversation. If you have any wool you'd like to donate, the Knit and Natter group would be very grateful! The cost is £5 in aid local charities. All are welcome! The cafe is accessible via stairs or a lift.

Our Toddler Group is run by volunteers to support the local community. Our aim is to provide a safe, relaxed, friendly and inviting space for all pre-school aged children (0-3 years) and their carers ... whether that's Dad, Mum, Grandparent or carer. There's plenty of space for the more energetic little person and quiet spaces for the smaller or more static ones. Plenty of toys, and we provide refreshments for all ages!

Due to the popularity of this Group, we operate a waiting list.

Cost is £4 per family.

We invite you to join us to pray for the life and ministry of the church, focused on our 2024 Bible Motto: Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Psalm 25: 4 - 5. We will also pray about the upcoming General Election. There are two opportunities to pray with us ... first, from 12 noon -1pm, and second from 7-8pm. Both times we will be in the Ministry Centre.

Why don’t you take a break from cancer and come and join us. It’s going to be good. Jan Cashen and Jeanette Lupton are hosting a peer support group for those affected by cancer; including those who have, or have had cancer, as well as their family and close friends. The group meets on the first Friday of each month from 2-3 pm in the Ministry Centre.

Please join us on Sunday, December 8 for our Toy Sunday services. The requirement to support families in need during Christmas is greater than ever and this year we will be supporting 'Safer Families' (see MORE INFO below for more details). Please help us to brighten up the day of those children in our area who are less fortunate than ourselves. Please note that all toys should be new and not wrapped. We would appreciate it if you would buy items that are suitable for a range of ages.

Night LYFE is an evening service on the second Sunday evening each month in the Ministry Centre and is run by young people for young people (and those young at heart!) Doors open at 6:30 pm for some snacks before the evening starts with a game, followed by a time of worship led by the youth band. A talk and prayer time complete the evening. A traditional carol service by candlelight, featuring the St. Helens Youth Brass Band. A time to sing your favourite carols and reflect on the real meaning of Christmas. Our bellringers will precede the service by ringing the church bells.

We are passionate about praying for others to encounter Jesus. One of the best ways to do this is to walk and pray around our local community. Please meet up with us at the Ministry Centre as we go in twos to pray for people who live on local roads, work in local businesses, those who are in schools and nursing homes, just to name a few examples.

An opportunity to drop-in for free refreshments and a chat with professionals about how families can be supported through the care services provided by Home Instead. The group meets every 3 months from 1:30 – 3:30 pm. Everyone is welcome.

We are delighted that young people from Pontville School will be running a coffee and cake cafe at Cafe Vista in the Ministry Centre on Mondays starting on January 15, from 1:30 - 3:00pm until summer. We invite you to enjoy coffee and cake while helping to support these young people as they gain vital work experience for their future. The cafe is accessible via stairs or a lift.

What's the best future you could ever imagine? There are fewer emotions more powerful than hope. But these days, hope often feels hard to come by. Where can we find a hope that wont disappoint us? 'Hope Explored' is our new course for people wanting to explore Christianity by looking at the life, death and resurrection of Jesus in Luke's gospel. This three session series shows that Christianity is about real hope; a joyful expectation for the future, based on true events in the past, which changes everything about our present.
