We encourage you to join us for a short service of Morning Prayer, Monday to Thursday, at 9.15 am. Participants meet in the Upper Room at the Ministry Centre on Mondays and Wednesdays, and on Facebook and Zoom Monday - Thursday. A recording of Morning Prayer is also available to watch on Facebook after each service.

A group for pregnant ladies, and parents with babies under 9 months of age. A chance to meet and chat over a cuppa - sharing stories and supporting one another. Cost is £2 per family.

Bring along your knitting needles and wool to Café Vista, where you can meet up with our Knit and Natter group for morning coffee and conversation. If you have any wool you'd like to donate, the Knit and Natter group would be very grateful! The cost is £5 in aid local charities. All are welcome! The cafe is accessible via stairs or a lift.

Our Toddler Group is run by volunteers to support the local community. Our aim is to provide a safe, relaxed, friendly and inviting space for all pre-school aged children (0-3 years) and their carers ... whether that's Dad, Mum, Grandparent or carer. There's plenty of space for the more energetic little person and quiet spaces for the smaller or more static ones. Plenty of toys, and we provide refreshments for all ages!

Due to the popularity of this Group, we operate a waiting list.

'Hope Explored' is a course for people wanting to explore Christianity by looking at the life, death and resurrection of Jesus in Luke's gospel. This three session series shows that Christianity is about real hope; a joyful expectation for the future, based on true events in the past, which changes everything about our present.

For those who require a gluten free wafer, there will be a separate cup. If you prefer just to have the wafer, please let a member of the clergy know.

Seniors are invited to Join us in the Ministry Centre for a three-course meal with tea/coffee, accompanied by some light piano entertainment. Cost is £5 per person. Pre-booking is essential, so please call the Church Office at 01695 424530 to reserve your spot!

Starting June 27, 2024, you’re invited to join the Ormskirk Anchorhold Prayer Noon Watch group at Ormskirk Parish Church. After the summer, the group will meet in the New Church House parish hall next to the church building. This Prayer Noon Watch is in addition to the morning prayer session which takes place every morning from 8:00 - 9:00.

If you're new to Christ Church, this is also a great opportunity to introduce yourself and get to know the friendly church family.

We have 8 bells in our church tower, however on a good day we might have only 4 or 5 of them ringing. We are looking to build a team of at least 12 bell ringers to create a more secure future for bell ringing at Christ Church. Bell ringing requires a good sense of time and rhythm, and in return it will provide a light upper body exercise and a good work out of the mind! We invite you to join us to pray for the life and ministry of the church, focused on our 2024 Bible Motto: Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Psalm 25: 4 - 5. We will also pray for the group preparing a parish profile to provide to candidates applying for the vacant Vicar role, and we will also pray for the appointment of a new Youth Worker. There are two opportunities to pray with us ... first, from 12 noon -1pm, and second from 7-8pm. Both times we will be in the Ministry Centre.

Why don’t you take a break from cancer and come and join us. It’s going to be good. Jan Cashen and Jeanette Lupton are hosting a peer support group for those affected by cancer; including those who have, or have had cancer, as well as their family and close friends. The group meets on the first Friday of each month from 2-3 pm in the Ministry Centre.

St. Mark’s Scarisbrick invites you to join them for this month’s Marian Ministries Ladies Breakfast which is held in their Parish Hall. Dates for future events are listed below.

These breakfasts which are called “Marian Ministries” are in remembrance of the three Marys around the cross of Jesus who symbolize for us:

Do you want to learn and understand more about faith and mental health? The Sanctuary Course is an eight week educational course designed to raise awareness and start conversations in local churches regarding mental health. It requires no previous training or expertise, just a willingness to engage in dialogue with other believers.
