A six-member interview panel has also been appointed to lead the selection process. The panel comprises two Representatives from the Christ Church PCC, the Area Dean, the Deanery Lay Representative, our Patron Rev Andrew Housley and the Archdeacon (who is the Bishop’s Representative).
These representatives (five males and one female) will be responsible for conducting candidate interviews which will hopefully lead to the recommendation of a preferred candidate to the Bishop. The preferred candidate will then meet with the bishop of Liverpool for Episcopal consent to the appointment.
It is anticipated that applications for the post will be received over the next 4-6 weeks, albeit most likely after Easter, with a further 2 weeks taken to prepare a shortlist of suitable candidates. (This process of shortlisting will be anonymised, removing all personal details, so that the process is balanced, fair and free of any unconscious bias).

Taking everything into consideration, the best outcome would see the new Vicar being welcomed to Christ Church in September at an Installation Service conducted by the Bishop.
