About Us

Welcome to St. Stephen's Church Hightown!

"St. Stephen’s Church, Hightown, is integral to community life, welcoming and joyful in worship, and inspiring and loving in our ministry to children."

We are a small, growing,  welcoming and busy Church in the liberal catholic tradition at the foot of the railway bridge in Hightown; very much a part of the local community.

Sung Eucharist, every Sunday at 10.30am;  All-Age Eucharist on the first Sunday of the month when we are led in our singing by our Worship Band. Children are always welcome and we don't mind noise!

For pre-preschoolers and their families, why not come along to Toddler Church on the second Sunday of the month at 4pm?

There are alternative worship opportunities: BCP (Book of Common Prayer) Evensong every Sunday at 6.00pm, and BCP Holy Communion on the 4th Sunday each month.

Mid-week Eucharist on Wednesdays at 10:30am.   A new monthly evening  Eucharist service- 'Sanctuary at Seven' on the second Wednesday of the month at 7pm which is quiet and prayerful, Receive-Restore-Refresh.

Morning Prayer, every Friday morning at 09:30.

Monthly Coffee Morning on the first Saturday of the month in the Church Hall. 10am.  Come together for some company, a chat and great bacon and sausage baps, or toasted teacake!

St. Stephen’s Youth Club meets every Friday in term-time at 6.00pm in the Church Hall.

St. Stephen's Parents & Toddlers Group "Toddler Time" for pre-schoolers and their carers every Friday morning term time, 10:00 to 11:30.  Play- Craft- Snack-Story- Songs-Fun! All Welcome! Re-starts Friday 13th September 2024.

We have a large and excellent, well-equipped parish hall, which is available to hire.

St. Stephen’s has a friendly and inclusive feel, which comes from the warmth and enthusiasm of its people.

If you haven’t already, why not give us a try?  You will be made very welcome.
