COME & SING MESSIAH!

Experience Handel’s Messiah as you’ve never sung it before! St Faith’s Crosby Music is excited to present Sir Eugene Goossens’ monumental orchestration of Messiah, memorably recorded by Sir Thomas Beecham, as a #comeandsing on Sunday 27th Oct 2024. For more information about this free event & to sign up to sing, click the link at the end of this post.

We will be performing alongside Crosby Symphony Orchestra in what we believe may be the first performance in the UK since the 1959 recording. Singers from all over the country are welcome to join us (don’t worry, the vocal parts are the same as standard editions so you don’t have to learn any new notes) to find out what it’s like to perform the Messiah with a symphony orchestra including four horns, three trombones, tuba, piccolo, contrabassoon, harp, triangle, cymbals, and bass drum.

St. Faith’s church is in Crosby, L22 4QQ, just north of Liverpool city centre and the day will start with a rehearsal at 2.30pm and performance (also free to attend) at 6.30pm.

We would love to see as many of you as possible for this amazing event

St Faith's Great Crosby

St. Faiths is a place of worship for its local community.  We meet every Sunday to celebrate the parish Eucharist in the Anglo Catholic tradition.   People of all ages are welcome, we welcome children of all ages.  Several times a year we have parade services with the Scouts, Cubs Beavers and Brownies.  It is a place where music is important, we have a choir on Sunday as well as an annual programme of recitals, and concerts taking place in the church. We welcome local schools into our church building for Christmas services and class visits.

We welcome baptisms, weddings and funerals; an important part of our service to the local community.

Occasional parish lunches and social events in the church and hall help to build our community life
