About Us
St George's ancient church and churchyard are a little oasis very near the edge of Grimsby yet tucked away on the single road which is one of the routes by which people walk or ride through to Bradley Woods.
We are always delighted when we are able to welcome visitors at one or other of our normal service times, 6pm on the first Sunday of the month and 9.15am on the third Sunday. We also welcome visitors, old and new, at our annual open weekend (often around our Harvest Festival at the beginning of October). Our visitors are often surprised by the panelling and the box pews with candles in the large poppy heads.
Additional worship throughout the year: we worship round the old cross in the churchyard at 5pm on Good Friday and celebrate a sung Eucharist on Easter Day at 6pm. In addition there are our annual Harvest Festival and Christmas Carol Services (dates as announced) at 6pm, and the First Eucharist of Christmas is celebrated at 10pm on Christmas Eve.
