Getting here
Swallow is a small church serving a small village. We believe we are a friendly community and would be delighted to welcome new members to our congregation whether permanent or just visiting for a day.
As part of a group of seven parishes (currently without a parish priest so we are looked after by Rev'd Ian Robinson, Rural Dean and vicar of Caistor) we have just one communion service a month on the third Sunday at 11.30 a.m. We shall be starting another morning service with hymns and a short sermon on the first Sunday at 9.30 a.m. This will not be a communion service and will be aimed at families.
It may contain no great architecture, but from the Saxon tower to the mainly Victorian chancel, Holy Trinity remains at the heart of the Swallow community as it has been since before the Norman Conquest, and shows clearly the stages of its development and the love with which it has been maintained and restored through the ages. A history of the church is available in the church and for family historians we have transcripts of all extant Parish Registers.
Sadly we have to keep the church locked, but there is a keyholder notice with a village map in the porch.
