A Peal of Lincolnshire Surprise Major (5040 changes) will be rung at St Thomas’ Church to commemorate 25 years since the Bell restoration took place in 1999.
The Peal will be rung by ringers from across the Lincoln Diocese also celebrating 125 years since the founding of the Lincolnshire Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers. Market Rasen also hosted the first meeting of the North Lincs Association 140 years ago, which was later incorporated into the LDGCBR.
If successful the peal will be the first ever of a Surprise method on our bells.
One member of our own band will be ringing in the peal.
Enjoy the constant changing of the bells as they peal out across the Market place, Church street and Caistor road. If you want to find out more, or even try bellringing yourself, please contact the Tower Captain, Norman Palmer, on 07881423388.
