Life Events - Weddings
Marrying in church is personal, meaningful and spiritual just as you want it to be. Our Churches, All Saints, St Paul’s and St George’s are special and unique places to get married in - the prayers, promises and the whole service of celebration become part of your marriage, on the day itself and beyond.
The marriage service in the Church of England is beautiful and full of meaning and provides for a wonderful wedding that we pray becomes a wonderful marriage.
For further information please contact the Team Parish Office or the Revd Canon Steve Johnson on 07483 374655. You may also find it useful to look at the Church of England Wedding website https://www.churchofengland.org/life-events/your-church-wedding where you will also find answers to questions and useful advice.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the choices you make about your wedding service. Please talk to the Parish Administrator.
One of us has been married before. Is that a problem? Not necessarily. You will need to talk to the Parish Priest about this before making a booking.
If one or both of you are foreign nationals, including EU passport holders, you will need a special licence to get married. We will be pleased to advise you on how to obtain one.
Banns
If you are to be married in another Church of England parish you may need to have your banns read at one of our churches. Please contact our parish administrator to arrange this.

A service of Thanksgiving for Marriage
For couples who have been married for a while we are very happy to offer a service of thanksgiving for marriage and a reaffirmation of the vows that were originally made. For more information about this, please contact our Parish Administrator in the first instance.
