A service of Holy Communion (using the C of E Common Worship liturgy)
An Ash Wednesday service of Holy Communion and Ashes is a solemn and reflective service marking the beginning of Lent.
It includes:
Penitential prayers and Scripture readings focusing on repentance and renewal.
A sermon encouraging self-examination and commitment to a holy Lent.
The Imposition of Ashes, where a cross is traced on the forehead with ashes, accompanied by the words: "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return." (Genesis 3:19).
Holy Communion, celebrating Christ’s grace and forgiveness.
A quiet, reverent atmosphere, with hymns that emphasise repentance and hope.

From major life changes to everyday dilemmas, decision-making can be difficult—sometimes requiring courage, sometimes feeling overwhelming.
We often seek God’s guidance, but life rarely offers clear-cut answers.
The Bible provides wisdom, yet ultimately, we are responsible for our choices.
Lent reminds us of Jesus’ time in the wilderness—his struggles, choices, and faithfulness.
This five-session course explores different aspects of decision-making, using Scripture and experience to guide discussion.
Join us as we reflect on how we make choices and what they mean for our faith.
Course Sessions
All sessions include a simple, said Holy Communion with a reflective address and prayers. Open to all—everyone is welcome.

The Passover Meal – What to Expect
This special Maundy Thursday service is a reflective and symbolic meal, recalling the Last Supper and its deep connection to the Jewish Passover. As we gather, we will hear Scripture readings, sing hymns, and share in a meal that includes lamb, bitter herbs, and unleavened bread—each carrying profound meaning in our faith.
The service includes moments of reflection, prayers, and responses, as well as an opportunity to share in the bread and wine, remembering Christ’s sacrifice. A young Christian will ask traditional questions about the significance of the meal, helping us to engage more deeply with its meaning.
Towards the end, we will share in the lighting of the Paschal Candle, symbolising Christ as the Light of the World. The service concludes in solemnity, as we recall Jesus' journey to the Garden of Gethsemane, preparing our hearts for Good Friday.
All are welcome to participate in this moving and meaningful act of worship. Please put your name on the list available in St Andrew's Church to ensure we cater for the correct number of people attending.

Easter Sunday Service – A Celebration of Resurrection
Join us for a joyful Easter Sunday service as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! This service of Holy Communion will be filled with uplifting hymns, prayer, and thanksgiving as we proclaim, "Alleluia! Christ is risen!"
Expect a warm welcome, inspiring scripture readings, and a message of hope reflecting on the victory of Christ over death. Together, we will share in the Eucharist, remembering Christ’s sacrifice and triumph.
