As part of an Episcopal visit to Loveden Central Group of Parishes, Bishop Nicholas visited All Saints' Church , Beckingham on the afternoon of 5th May. The Bishop took part in a Rogation Sunday service led by Canon Valerie Rampton. The service also involved blessing the Church clock which is an important part of village life. This was recently restored using money donated in memory of David Webb who was a much- loved member of the community, running the village garage for many years. The clock was lovingly restored by Wayne Francis of Clockwise Restorations, an approved restorer who repaired the clock in celebration of the 30th anniversary of his clock business. Wayne did not charge for his labour(parts only). The service was well supported by the village community including members of the Parish Council who had also helped finance the clock restoration, as well as new church gates which had unfortunately not been completed in time to be blessed. The village charity Beckingham Highway Trust have also been major contributors. The clock and gates are very important to this rural community who were delighted that Bishop Nicholas could join them.
