We are a community church with our community at the heart of all we do. Situated In the centre of the village, adjacent to the Manor, is our Grade 1 Listed church dedicated to St. Lawrence.
Although its roots are in the 12th century, with nearby Newbo Abbey, its costruction was carried out between then and the 15th century, most of which is evident in the building we see today. It retains its Norman heritage both in the columns and arches of the north arcade and also the font, but the remainder is 15th century gothic.
Constructed from Golden Ironstone, mined locally at Denton, with Ancaster stone dressings, seating in excess of 150 people.

We have a dedicated congregation and PCC - looking to grow God's Kingdom. Jenny Stuart is a Licensed Reader and also our PCC Secretary. Jenny offers local pastoral care within the community. We have a vision of Welcome for everyone, we are very thankful for all the help and support we receive.
Our weekly attendance is small, but during Christmas, Easter and Harvest, we do generate a larger congregation, especially when the younger people can get involved. The church is delighted that Allington with Sedgebrook School and also White House Farm Day Nursery hold their Easter and Christmas services at the church. The Church and Museum is open everyday from 10am - 4pm, We have an extensive and well-used children's corner and community library and jigsaws which are all refreshed regularly. we are also a recycling point for aluminium cans and ink cartridges and that we are a donation point for Grantham Foodbank. We annualy hold a 'Teddy Bears Pinic' event, which is a marvellous occasion and hugely supported and attended.
We also have enthusiastic supporters, who are willing to apply their skills when required and the church is used for other functions, such as concerts and talks. We have Afternoon Teas, our September Afternoon Tea is always in aid of Macmillan Cancer and we also have Bring & Buy sales - supporting the church.
The Heritage Group meets bi-monthly on the 4th Sunday - summer 4pm in church, winter 3pm in the Social Club
Most of the time at church we are like a big happy family. However even in very happy families people can have a bad day and even peope we know and trust can upset us. We want to help everyone have good days all of the time. We try to make sure that people who have jobs within the church always behave well and in a way that is helpful to you. We never want anyone or anything in church to frighten you, confuse you or worry you. it is important that you tell us if something is upsettign you or if you are feeling worried about something that's ahppening or something somebody is doing. We ahve specially trained peaopl in each vilalge you can talk to, and who you can ask for help. These people are good at safeguarding (this menas they look aftereveryone's safety). Caring for people is a very important part of our Christian life.
