We were delighted to be able to welcome The Venerable Gavin Kirk, Archdeacon of Lincoln, to St. Andrew’s on the morning of Monday 4th November. The Archdeacon enjoyed a tour of the school, visiting each classroom and observing the latest progress of our building work. He then led Collective Worship to the Whole School, focusing on St. Andrew and his friendship with Jesus. This encouraged all children and staff to consider how we can be friends of Jesus, by the way in which we treat each other, linking to the Bible verse in our vision: “Love one another, as I have loved you.” (John 13:34). The Archdeacon then met with our Key Stage 2 Collective Worship Leaders and answered the questions that they had prepared. Did you know that the job description of an Archdeacon dates back nearly 700 years!
We are very grateful to the Archdeacon for taking the time to visit our school and look forward to further visits in the future. Thank you also to Reverend Al and Jane Hansford, our Bishop’s Visitor, for their support with the Archdeacon’s visi
