" Well, what a privilege!
During August we at St Mary's Church Evedon were able to host the Benefice on two occasions.
On 10th August our Harvest Time Celebration was very well attended. The 'singalong ' evening was so enjoyable. After an hour or so of ' singing our heads off ' so to speak, we all spilled out into the churchyard, into the warm evening sunshine, where we enjoyed tea coffee, cakes, savouries wine and splendid conversation. Though we began at 7pm the event went on into darkness. (see photographs)
The generosity of those attending was superb. Not only did we receive a wide collection of foods to donate to the Sleaford Food Bank, our church maintenance fund also benefited handsomely from donations by everyone.
On Wednesday 21st August the Benefice Holy Communion service was held at St Mary's. Reverand Rosemary lead a delightful service, where she explained that in the Bible Shepherds are exampled to represent leaders of Gods people.
Coffee, cakes and conversation were yet again an enjoyable part of the evening. "
