Keeping track of services across a benefice of six churches can be tricky. Here's a handy list of dates and locations of services for the month of August. Don't forget the next Messy Church, on the theme of Summer Holidays, on Saturday, 10 August, 2pm, at the Church Street Rooms. One further point to note: With the arrival of our Curate, we'll be celebrating 'red letter days' throughout the year with a said Holy Communion. Our first one is on Saturday, 24 August, on the festival of St Bartholomew the Apostle.
Besides the usual details of services and diary dates, this week's notice sheet includes a photo of our new curate, Revd Aron, after his ordination as Deacon at Lincoln Cathedral. And this Sunday at 6pm there's a service at Bourne Abbey where David will be newly authorised as a Lay Minister, to increase our Benefice team of ALMs to five.
On Saturday, 29 June, our new curate, Aron Donaldson, will have been ordained into the Diaconate. We will welcome Revd Aron into the Corby Glen Benefice on 12 July, after he has been on an Officer Training Corps placement in Gibraltar. On Sunday, 7 July, our existing four ALMs (authorised lay ministers) will be joined by David Porter, who will be newly authorised to serve as an ALM. In other news, Revd Stephen would like to start a Benefice Choir to support our worship at joint services such as the Choral Evensong planned for later this year -- please contact Revd Stephen if you are interest. For more details about these and more, please download the notice sheet attached to this news story.
