Around sixty of us -- of all ages -- met in the Church Street Rooms, Corby Glen, on the morning of Good Friday.
A happy buzz settled on the hall as we worked on craft activities on the theme of Good Friday and Easter -- cooking, scratch-art, card making, Holy Week calendars, sticker art, colouring...
Then we came together to hear Revd Stephen tell the story of Jesus' life during the first Holy Week -- Palm Sunday, when Jesus entered Jerusalem; the special supper of bread and wine he had with his friends on the Thursday; the sad events of the first Good Friday; and the very happy events of the first Easter Sunday!
We also watched a puppet, who mimed to a beautiful song "God so loved the world that he gave his only Son...".
And refreshments, of course -- hot cross buns this time.
The next Messy Church will be on the theme of Pentecost, on Saturday 8 June at 2 pm. Do join us if you can!
