About Us

St. Mary-the-Virgin is a small, beautiful and friendly church in the heart of rural Leicestershire. We serve the people and villages of Wyfordby, Saxby and Stapleford, and are part of the Benefice of South Framland.

Our main services happen only when it's our turn to host the Benefice Communion service on the first and fifth Sunday of a month. This is because we currently have no roof, which was stolen a few years ago—but we never let that dampen our spirits. We hold other occasional services around the year, usually including some sort of lunch afterwards.

We're an open-minded community that stands firmly in the liberal Catholic tradition of the Church of England, and we offer everyone who comes to our building and services a warm welcome.
