D-Day 80th anniversary commemorated as The Longest Yarn comes to Tewkesbury Abbey.

The Longest Yarn is an 80m 3D depiction of that fateful day, 6th June 1944, in wool art. With 80 displays, each measuring one metre in length, depicting scenes of the world’s largest amphibious invasion, The Longest Yarn is something quite unique and not to be missed. The scenes include the build-up to D-Day in England, the horrors on the Landing Beaches and the bloody inland battles.

There is no charge for entry but donations are invited. Suggested donation £5 per person. Tickets are not needed. Please check below for occasional times where the exhibition will be closed to visitors.

Morning Prayer is said in St John & St Catherine each day at 9am, using the Church of England Daily Prayer app.

The Abbey is open from 8.45am until 4.30pm daily.

Access may be restricted during services. Please look at the website www.tewkesburyabbey under 'service times' for weekly services.

Evening Prayer is said in St Margaret's Chapel each day at 4pm, using the Church of England Daily Prayer app.
Weekday Evening Prayer is said when Choral Evensong is not sung.

Welcome to Celebrate! We are a fresh expression of Church lovingly seeded from Tewkesbury Abbey in Priors Park for families who love to come together to have fun, get to know Jesus, grow together in faith, support and care for each other and those in our wider community.

We are an inclusive community where all are welcome. We particularly suit families of all ages as children are always present and fully involved.

We normally meet every Saturday 10.30am in Tewkesbury Abbey as a whole community . We also meet weekly on Zoom for our Bible study and at other times for family events, holidays, kids and teenage stuff and sometimes just for lunch!

This service is a sung mass by our Tewkesbury Abbey Choir with congregational hymns.

This will be an informal service which will include Boys Brigade parading of banners and an all-age talk. It will also be a communion service where anyone who wishes to, can come to receive the bread and wine.
We will have a range of well-known hymns and, after the service, we are planning refreshments including sausage and bacon butties! The themes for the next 3 services are:

6 October Harvest Festival
3 November Saints and Superheroes
1 December Only 24 sleeps left

Join us as we celebrate the start of the season of Epiphany and the arrival of the 3 Wise Men at the Manger with our Epiphany Carol Service
This service involves Christmas and Epiphany carols and pieces sung by our Tewkesbury Abbey Choir.
Following this service, the Abbey will be open for the public to be able to view our annual Epiphany canlde display.
