Each year we celebrate the bounty and beauty of the Autumn months, praising God for the wonders of creation.
St Nicholas Ashchurch is offering a time to reflect on the recent past, but also to look forward to preparing for the coming of the Christ Child in the season of Advent. What is God saying to us at this time of change?
We invite you to spend Saturday the 18th of November exploring what you are ‘gathering in’ and what you have plans, hopes and maybe even dreams for in the coming year. Using the Bible and other prayers, poems and texts from the Celtic tradition, we will put aside time to settle ourselves into the seasons of quietness which can also be seasons of busyness and even stress, when the time can be taken up with other things.
This will be a led, one-day retreat by Canon Julie Fay at St Nicholas Ashchurch. She is a licensed Reader Minister in the Church of England and Honorary Lay Canon of Gloucester Cathedral. She is a loved and familiar face at St Nicholas Ashchurch and St Nicholas Kemerton.
The day will start at 10am and conclude at 4pm with tea and cake provided, but do bring your own lunch to eat gathered together
