Emma Johnson is one of the few clarinettists to have established a career as a solo performer, which has taken her to venues all over the world. Emma grew up in London and her career was launched when at the age of 17 she won BBC Young Musicians in front of a television audience of 12 million. Her television appearances range from a recital for Sky Arts to The BBC Proms. Her radio work includes Artist of the Week for both BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.
Accompanying Emma will be virtuoso pianist John Lenehan. With more than 80 albums to his credit, reflecting an enormous variety of genres and styles, John Lenehan ranks as one of the most versatile pianists on the classical scene today. (Image: Frances Marshall.)

With her musician friends, Emma will present her innovative 'Instrument Stories' programme in a concert for children aged 6 to 10 (accompanied by a parent or responsible adult) at 11:00am on Saturday 14th September in St Edward's Church. Soul Family’s ‘Motown and More’ is the defining sound of 1960s pop, RnB and soul music.
