We appreciate music in worship and performance at Bourton on the Hill. Read on to find out what this has meant in practice.
Recent concerts:
2nd November: Beat the Autumn Blues! featuring our guests, Blockley Brass, and Sophie (clarinet/piano), Naomi (violin/piano) and Roger (trombone/compere) - an hour of jazz, ragtime and favourite tunes to brighten up the day. We were very grateful to Blockley Brass for giving up their time to share their talent with us.
20th July: Naomi, Sophie and Roger from St. Lawrence presented "An afternoon in New Orleans" as part of the Blockley Summer Music Weekend. This concert was held in Blockley Church with proceeds to Bourton on the Hill Church where money was needed for essential maintenance.
15th February: Blockley Blokes Choir presented an afternoon concert with tea.
9th November 2024: Dances and Dreams - music from Naomi and Sophie featuring harp, violin, viola, clarinet and piano
Reports of all these past concerts can be found on the News and notices page.

Other news:
We have acquired an electric piano which was being sold locally and was spotted by our organist, Henry. Thanks to all who offered contributions to enable us to purchase it and to Roger and Henry for collecting it and installing it in church. We hope it will make it easier to arrange concerts in the future and it will be a useful alternative keyboard to have in church.
We are delighted that a group of people from the Blockley bell ringers have agreed to resume the practice of ringing the Bourton on the Hill bells before our evening service on the first Sunday of the month. We are very grateful to them.
Henry has been playing some wonderful organ music at our services recently. We are hoping he may do a recital or two in the coming year.
