Our morning communion service on Mothering Sunday brought to mind all who have parented, loved and cared for us and traditional bunches of flowers were given out to all the ladies present with a few left over to be delivered to members of our church family who weren't able to join us. At the same time we were mindful of those for whom it is a difficult day and this was reflected in our prayers. Dana gave a thought provoking talk recalling the many ways people are mothers and the very complex settings in which human life exists. Each rose in her vase represented a different type of person in a mothering/ caring or family role.
