Honeybourne's beautiful medieval church is
nestled near the bottom of the Cotswold scarp. It has stood for over 700 years,
following its consecration in 1295 by the Bishop of St. Asaph, and regular
services are still held here. The
glorious golden stone exterior surrounds a simple white-washed interior which
exudes calm and peace. The building has
been altered over the years, but that adds to its charms. The church’s dedication to St. Ecgwin, founder
of Evesham Abbey, reflects the link the village had throughout the medieval
period with this major religious institution, which owned the land in the
Church Honeybourne part of the modern village.
The parish of Church Honeybourne: St Ecgwin is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of Gloucester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
