When we suggested having our Harvest Festival at the Plough pub, we were overwhelmed by the response!  Not only did the landlord arrange for a plough and some tractors to be blessed at the service, but he organised a fundraising auction and sale of promises, laid on a Ploughman's lunch.  We were bowled over by the generosity of those who donated items for auction, the numbers who turned up, the generosity of the bids, and the beautiful arrangements of harvest goods.  And they want to do it again next year!  It was heartwarming evidence of how highly the church is regarded in the village.
