If you have recently become engaged to be married, congratulations! A really good place to start finding out about getting married in a Church of England church or having a blessing after a civil ceremony is the Church of England’s website. Here, you will be able to discover the legal requirements such as having (or being able to make) a local connection to the Parish for weddings. (There is no such requirement for Wedding Blessings.) The next step is to contact the Parish office so that we can go through the necessary steps with you and find out more about the kind of service you would like.

As of March 2023, the Church of England General Synod (the Anglican ‘parliament’) has welcomed proposals which would enable same-sex couples to come to church after a civil marriage or civil partnership to give thanks, dedicate their relationship to God and receive God’s blessing. Rest assured, you will always be welcome in our churches. If you feel unsure of this or anything else and would like to talk to a member of the ministry team or Reverend Sarah, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Find out more:
To book a wedding, please download and fill out and (both) sign the form below, then return it to the Parish Office. We will then prepare an estimate of costs for you and ask for a £50 deposit to cover administration costs and hold the booking for you.
