Welcome to St Mary's Buckden.
This week, 1st to 7th December at St Marys Buckden the church is open to visitors every day, so do come in and take a look around. As Advent begins and we start to prepare for Christmas, there’s a star shining inside the church and a nativity scene in place in the churchyard. This week we’ll be welcoming Buckden Day Nursery and Buckden Preschool Playgroup to church for their Pre-Christmas visits.
Services in St Mary’s this week:-
Mondays 9am The Daily Office: Morning Prayer
Wednesdays 10am Midweek Service : Holy Communion
Saturday 6th December 3.30pm Christingle Service (with churches together and the scouting groups)
Sunday 7th December 8am Holy Communion & 11am All-Age Service
Our sister church, All Saints in the Offords, also has an All-Age Service at 9.30am and at 4pm there’s Carols by Candlelight at St Peter’s Offord Darcy.

Friday 7pm Angel Voices rehearse in St Mary’s, 8pm Cottenham Brass Band concert in All Saints Offord.
Saturday 6 December. 10.30am - 12.30am Advent Coffee Morning with Festive Gift Stalls.

About us.
Our Benefice is currently (since June 2025) in a vacancy and looking for a new Priest-in-Charge to join us. We are a friendly village church with an active congregation. We run a variety of services and events throughout the year. Something for everyone, we hope. The church is open every day and visitors are always welcome. Our main services are on Sunday at 11am and Wednesday at 10.00am.
You are welcome to join us for tea/coffee & chat at 11am every Wednesday, Saturday Social - there's something on, with refreshments, most saturday mornings, and on the afternoon of the second Wednesday each month we host a Community Cafe with befrienders/transport group Friends in Deed. We are voucher holders and a collection point for the Foodbank. We have strong links with the local school, Buckden Primary Academy, and with Hardwick Dene Care Home.
We run various group activities including Junior Church and youth@thetowers for children/youth; Angel Voices for singers; bell-ringers; Getting Active for those who like to walk, Cleaning Crew. Our Living Stones Room is available to hire for small groups events.
