The C17th Chancel of Croydon has had to be closed due to the floor that appears to be sinking.  Underneath there is a known crypt that is currently sealed and until the reason for the movement in the floor can be fully explored it is only safer to close the Chancel.  First attempts to explore the crypt with remote technology were unsuccessful but a second attempt has been successful although the reasons for the movement are still far from clear.  Work is then ongoing to try and find a reason behind it all.
