St Nicholas embarked on a low carbon footprint policy a number of years ago, this year we have now taken the opportunity to  source our electrical energy from 'green' resources.  We have achieved this through 'Green Energy' that has been promoted by the Diocese. As we are a small church without parapets it is not possible to use solar panels and we do not have the room to install biomass sources, its position and distance from the highway also restricts other energy sources so we are limited to electricity. In the 19C they used coal along with many complaints about who was to get it stoked up early enough.
