The award from ARocha (UK) was for our contribution to the Church of Englands target for a Carbon Neutral Church by 2030.  The Award covers a number of areas including the conservation and management of the churchyard as well as the church buildings, focus on the community and support for other initiatives such as Water Aid and FairTrade etc..   We now know that our building and our activities have a vey low carbon footprint and we offset what we can't make any lower by donating to projects in Africa, Nepal and South America.  The Church of England has set milestones for its churches to reach its target of Zero Neutral Carbon and St Nicholas Arrington is now ahead of the curve with its energy source as well as its audit for energy usage.
