Churches across the 5folds villages held a Day of Prayer for world peace on Wednesday, 14 August 2024. All the church buildings were open (as they usually are) but there were special resources provided to help visitors if they wished to pray but were looking for some prayers to use. There was equally an invitation to simply sit quietly and reflect.
We always pray for our world and for peace in it but, after the riots and protests in the UK, and the worsening situation in Gaza/Israel and Ukraine/Russia, setting aside a special day to do so seemed right. We are grateful to anyone who came into the church in the course of the day.
