Our Churches are open every day between about 09.30am and 4pm. On Wednesday 14th August, a day of prayer was held in all our Churches, where visitors were invited to take some time out to pray for peace, both in our own country and in the wider world.It was well supported, but we are conscious that some may not have been able to attend on the day, so we are making available here the prayer resources leaflet that was created for the day, so that it may be used at your leisure.
Churches across the 5folds villages held a Day of Prayer for world peace on Wednesday, 14 August 2024. All the church buildings were open (as they usually are) but there were special resources provided to help visitors if they wished to pray but were looking for some prayers to use. There was equally an invitation to simply sit quietly and reflect. We always pray for our world and for peace in it but, after the riots and protests in the UK, and the worsening situation in Gaza/Israel and Ukraine/Russia, setting aside a special day to do so seemed right. We are grateful to anyone who came into the church in the course of the day.
