Lighting of the New Fire & Easter Vigil

Occuring
for 1 hour
Venue
St Mary the Virgin, Fen Ditton
Address
Church Street Fen Ditton Cambridge, CB5 8ST, United Kingdom

All welcome at this special vigil service in anticipation of the joy of Easter Day, where we shall renew our baptism vows as we install the new Paschal candle for the coming year and kindle a new flame for it. Please bring along something to make a joyful noise (whistle, bell, musical instrument, kazoo...!).

St Mary the Virgin, Fen Ditton

St Mary's Church stands close to the River Cam and is a much loved landmark for rowers, dogwalkers and others seeking refuge from the busy city.  Our parish includes the ancient village but also a good part of the urban development (built in old Ditton's fields) and all of the newest local development, Marleigh.  We have an active church community with services at 10.30am each Sunday, except the last Sunday of the month when we join with our sister churches in Teversham or Horningsea.  There are regular midweek study evenings and a coffee morning on alternate Wednesdays.
